Unique panoramic view of the beautiful Trevi Fountain in Rome at night captured in September 2013.
Fontana di Trevi is the largest Baroque fountain in Rome, Italy and one of the most beautiful in the world. A traditional legend holds that if visitors throw a coin into the fountain, they are ensured a return to Rome. Legend holds that in 19 BC thirsty Roman soldiers were guided by a young girl to a source of pure water thirteen kilometres from the city of Rome. A twenty-two-kilometre aqueduct was constructed and named Aqua Virgo, or Virgin Waters, in honour of the legendary young girl. Fontana di Trevi marks the terminal point of the “modern” Acqua Virgo.
